Spare a thought..
Bonjour, good day and all that!
It's been a while since the last blog, that thing called illness drained me and I think it's almost over until the next virus comes knocking on the door wanting a place to stay!
As it's the middle of December, it's likely all of you are busy in some way. If like me last year, you are working in retail doing 14 hour days listening the same 12 Christmas song over and over again, massive respect to you, I've been there many many times!
Maybe you are on the other side of that, maybe you are the shopper that is giving that person that works in retail some attitude because they don't have a Hatchimal! Truth is, it's not their fault, if you had got one when they first came out 2 months ago, you wouldn't be complaining!
There are many highlights and stories, people complaining a shop is busy in December.. what do you expect?? The flipside of this is you as that person is part of the reason why the shop is busy!
Retail at Christmas is brutal, I've been a part of 18 of them and they don't get any easier. Having people constantly moaning and asking the same question over and over again is exhausting both mentally and physically, it's easy to see why people crack.
So the message here is, for the people shopping, sort yourselves out, get organised, it's not the shops fault you have left it so late to get the number one present on little Johnny's list.
As for you retailers, stay strong, it's almost over again for another year! But once it's all over and the kids go back to school in January, do yourself a favour and get yourself out of retail! Yes it is hard, but do you want to do another Christmas where you are??
Don’t stress yourself over things you don’t have a control about. What you should do is got focus on what you can do always choose the things that you can do over those you cannot. It’s kind of stressful, but I am sure that everything will make sense at the end of it. Christmas season has always been stressful, that’s why you need to need to deal witty all the hustle associated with it! Well, that’s life!
